Earthly or Heavenly Treasures


A shack for some, for others a house and to fools, a mansion
some say just a roof, others call it home , but the fool, his life
He idols his cars, treasures his gold and forsakes his wife
he steals from his neighbor , out of envy and for strife
Then lies for pleasure to more treasures, yet is never satisfied

For material things, gambles away what is just and right
Ungrateful, lust and greed, is a tight noose, that's hard to fight
Deceit is satan's reward and the only plaque for you, he will write
but God slips all knots, He's righteous Might and a bright Knight

He is whom we ought to seek, not the deeds of darkness nights
pursuit the treasures that are for Glory and pleasant in His sight
forgiving all them who test your faith and see not the light
Peace with those who war against your flesh to smite
Give Hope to the needy, the widow and thee ungodly type
Love those who curse, hate and wrongfully betray and despise
for riches and treasures is their reward, on earth and their life.
So store up treasures in Heaven, cause there, life and eternity lies.

Lay Up Treasures in Heaven

19 "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal;
20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:19-21
